Who are we?
European Impact, also known as 'Changing Role of Europe', is a research group (lectorate) within The Hague University of Applied Sciences led by Professor of Practice Dr. Mendeltje van Keulen. We expand knowledge about the functioning of the EU for students, professionals, and policymakers through practice-oriented research, workshops, lectures, and debates.
Our team is dynamic, committed, and works on current issues at the intersection of EU policy, governance, communication, and European cooperation.
What will you do?
Your job as a student assistant will involve a combination of management, organisation, and research. You will support our team with:
For the Interreg Europe Project EUM-POWER
- Supporting project management, progress monitoring, and project administration;
- Communication activities such as writing (English) updates for the project's website and social media, or formatting documents;
- Assisting in the preparation of meetings and events;
- Supporting the project partners with the above tasks;
- Creating a substantive newsletter once per semester.
For the Jean Monnet Chair EU-ACT Digital:
- Support in planning, monitoring, and reporting on activities;
- Updating the project website and writing project updates;
- Planning, co-organising, and facilitating events on European digital policy;
- Ensuring communication and outreach activities related to the Chair.

Who are you?
- Third- or fourth-year student;
- You are interested in current affairs and politics;
- You want to delve deeper into EU policy (specifically digital policy and EU labour migration);
- You have strong communication skills;
- You are creative, proactive, independent, and well-organised;
- You write flawless Dutch and English;
- You are proficient in Canva, Adobe, Office 365, LinkedIn, and Instagram;
- Experience with project-based work or project administration is a plus.
