About Us

European Impact is the external name of the research group Changing Role of Europe. We are part of the Centre of Expertise for Global & Inclusive Learning at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. The research group has been led since 2018 by Professor of Practice Dr. Mendeltje van Keulen and includes around 15 dedicated practice-based researchers, lecturers, student assistants, and interns.

A research group brings together education, applied research, and the professional field. European Impact focuses on teaching insights, knowledge, and skills related to the European dimension of professional practice – through research and training. We bring this knowledge from the field into the university curriculum, helping to prepare a new generation of professionals.

Our Mission

Working in a European context is a skill. That is why our research group collaborates with professionals, students, and lecturers to tackle the challenges posed by European policymaking and cooperation. This includes exploring the day-to-day realities in provinces, municipalities, businesses, and organisations.

Mission

What do we do?

Our (lecturer-)researchers work with students and professionals from the field to address real-life issues. Aside from conducting applied research, we help develop solutions and apply them in practice.

European Impact supports organisations and (future) professionals in becoming skilled at integrating the European dimension into their daily work. We do this through training, research, and a wide range of events – from panel discussions to workshops and guest lectures.
